You might be asking yourself “Why doesn’t everybody have a good experience building a home?”
At Aspen Homes, Inc., we feel the key to a successful building process is communication.

The Building Process

Step 1: Meet the Team & Communicate Key Features

The kick-off stage starts with a discussion between your family and our team, really digging into key features like budget, materials and design aspects of your new home.

Step 2: Signed Contract & Initial Meeting

Once the contract is signed and down payment is made, your lot is surveyed. You’ll then meet with Aspen Homes to finalize blueprints and select colors for Architectural Approval.

Step 3: Materials Selection

After Architectural Approval, you’ll meet with our designer to finalize your home’s custom building materials. From countertops, cabinets and flooring, to trim, lighting and paint color, our designer will outfit your home to match your lifestyle and personality.

Step 4: Excavation & Foundation

Construction begins with the excavation. Your base footing is poured and once set, is the base on which your home’s foundation rests. The foundation is a key element, especially with Wisconsin’s ever-changing climate. Once the footing is secured, the foundation wall is poured and the basement is braced.

Step 5: Framing

The subfloor, walls, roofing and siding are constructed. Rough inspections are performed by the local inspector, along with the first Focus on Energy guideline test to verify the home meets the correct specifications.

Step 6: Rough Mechanics & Drywall

At this point in the construction phase, the pace really picks up with a swarm of activity and your house begins to take shape. Things like plumbing, heating, electrical and HVAC are all installed. The drywall is then built out and your rooms are separated.

Step 7: Finishing Begins

This step is often the most exciting for homeowners. Once the exterior is constructed, the selections made with our designer in Step 3 will finally come to life. Trim, stairs, cabinets, countertops and flooring are installed and the interior of your home is painted.

Step 8: Final Walkthrough

Your Aspen Homes’ job manager walks you through the entire house, explaining all the features and components. This is your opportunity to examine the floors, countertops, walls and fixtures. In addition, final Focus on Energy and Green Built® Verification testing is completed.

After the final closing with Aspen Homes, your new home will be ready for you to move into!

Thanks again for making our house project easy for us. It’s a rarity that things get done on time these days. Your communication with us was also outstanding.
